Feb. 15-19, 2012

Jerry L. Bernard

Funeral services will be held Wed. Feb. 22, at 11:00 a.m. at The Family Church in Lafayette for Jerry L. Bernard, age 56. He died Feb. 16, at Lafayette General Medical Center. Interment will be in St. Martin De Porres Cemetery in Scott. He was lifelong resident of Scott, owner of Jerry L. Bernard Floor Covering for over thirty years. Visiting hours extend from 8:30 to 11 a.m., Wednesday at The Family Church (223 Stone Ave. in Lafayette).


Emma Lou Beard Bourque

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mrs. Claude Bourque, 72, was held at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Broussard on Saturday, Feb 18. Bourque, a resident of Grand Coteau and a former long-time resident of Broussard, died at Opelousas General Hospital.


Alice Forestier

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Feb. 14, at a Mass of Christian Burial in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Scott, for Alice Forestier, 92, who died on Saturday, Feb. 11, at her residence. Entombment will be in Sts. Peter & Paul Mausoleum in Scott. Forestier was a lifelong resident of Scott, and retiree from Lafayette Charity Hospital (UMC) after 25 years.


Mary Savoie

Funeral Services were held at a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, Feb. 18, at Sts. Peter & Paul Church for Mary Savoie, 81, who passed away on Feb. 15. Entombment took place in Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery. Savoie, of Lafayette, was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church. She spent her entire life working for and then partly owning Don's Seafood of Beaumout, Dallas, and Houston. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to St. Ignatius Catholic School or to Hospice Compassus.


Alice Faye Tullia

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 14, at Fountain Memorial Funeral Home in Lafayette for Alice Faye Tullia, 75, who passed away Saturday, Feb. 11, surrounded by her loved ones at Camelot of Broussard. Interment followed in Fountain Memorial Cemetery in Lafayette. Born in Port Allen, she was a long-time resident of Acadiana. She was an active member of Lafayette Seventh-day Adventist Church. She is survived by her husband, Benny Tullia, of Broussard. Memorials may be made in her name to Hospice of Acadiana, 2600 Johnston St., Ste. 200, Lafayette, LA, 70503.


Ashawn Patrick Romero

A mass of Christian Burial for Shawn Romero, 34, was held Feb. 19, at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church in Coteau. Internment followed at the church cemetery. Romero was a resident of Youngsville, and he died at Louisiana Extended Care Hospital in Lafayette.
